Boris Stankewitz has been a musician in Stuttgart since 2004. Before that he was able to gain initial experience at jazz festivals and various concerts in Freiburg, Munich, Basel and Zurich and had lessons with well-known guitarists such as Frank Haunschild, Michael Sagmeister and Max Zentawer.
During his studies at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart with Werner Acker, he was able to gain a lot of experience in the field of jazz and its varieties, not least through a stay abroad in Switzerland. However, it was just as important for him to develop the greatest possible flexibility and to continue his education in the areas of classical music, new music and pop/rock. In 2009 he was also in the final of the European Guitar Award.
He completed his studies in 2009 »with distinction«. From 2010 to 2011 he studied with Prof. Frank Kuruc in Mannheim in the master’s program and graduated with 1.0.
Although a guitarist is often requested for events of all kinds, Boris Stankewitz is also active with his own projects (e.g. Risk Society/CD released by Konnex-Records Berlin) and at the same time with acoustic projects or pop greats (e.g. Samy Deluxe, Afrob and many more) on Germany’s stages.
